SAN DIEGO (AP) A hotel in the heart of the San Diego Bay is offering refund vouchers for the first three nights of the holidays.
The San Diego International Airport Authority says the hotels’ policy for refunds on a first-come, first-served basis for guests arriving from other airports does not include hotels in San Diego, San Francisco and Oakland.
The hotel, the San Antonio Convention Center, said on its website that it is offering the vouchers starting Dec. 1, which is also the deadline for hotels in the San Francisco area to refund hotel stays.
It said that no refund is available for stays booked through Dec. 12.
Hoteliers say they do not accept refund vouchers and that guests who book stays through hotels are responsible for the actual cost of the stay.
Hotels have been trying to lure guests to their hotels as they scramble to keep pace with the growth in hotel occupancy, and some have struggled to keep up with demand, as thousands of people have used the San Mateo, Oakland and San Francisco airports as temporary vacation destinations.
